Cinnamon Sugar Donuts Recipe

  • Author: Victoria

Ingredients

Scale

For the Donuts:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk or almond milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil

For the Coating:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan thoroughly to ensure the donuts don’t stick.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir together until the mixture is well blended.
  3. Whisk Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter or coconut oil until the ingredients are fully combined.
  4. Combine Ingredients
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix to ensure the donuts remain light and fluffy.
  5. Fill the Donut Pan
Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity approximately two-thirds full to allow room for rising.
  6. Bake
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and spring back when touched lightly.
  7. Cool and Coat
Allow the donuts to cool slightly in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the coating. While the donuts are still warm, roll each one in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
