Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteak Recipe

  • Author: Victoria

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1.5 lbs beef steak, sliced thin
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 cups provolone cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Begin by slicing the beef steak, green bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Aim for thin slices to ensure everything cooks evenly.
  2. Combine in Slow Cooker:
Place the sliced beef, bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  3. Mix the Sauce:
In a separate bowl, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
  4. Add the Sauce:
Pour the sauce mixture over the meat and vegetables in the slow cooker. This will infuse the ingredients with rich, savory flavors as they cook.
  5. Cook:
Set your slow cooker to cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The slow cooking process allows the flavors to meld beautifully and the beef to become tender.
  6. Prepare the Rolls:
When the cooking time is almost up, preheat your oven’s broiler and slice the hoagie rolls in half. Toast them lightly to prepare for assembly.
  7. Assemble the Sandwiches:
Once the cooking is complete, use a slotted spoon to fill each hoagie roll with the beef mixture.
  8. Add Cheese and Broil:
Top each sandwich with shredded provolone cheese. Place the sandwiches under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is perfectly melted.
