Beef Stroganoff Recipe

  • Author: Victoria

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into strips
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice, for serving
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Skillet:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until soft and fragrant, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  2. Cook the Beef:
Add the beef strips to the skillet. Cook until browned on all sides, ensuring they are cooked through but still tender. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Mushrooms:
In the same skillet, add the mushrooms. Cook until they are tender and have released their moisture, stirring occasionally.
  4. Thicken the Sauce:
Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well to coat. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens to a smooth consistency.
  5. Combine Ingredients:
Return the cooked beef to the skillet, then stir in the sour cream. Heat the mixture through, but be careful not to let it boil, as this can cause the sour cream to curdle.
  6. Season and Serve:
Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the Beef Stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice and garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of color and flavor.
