- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite variety)
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs like thyme or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices evenly.
- Sprinkle half of the cheese over the potato slices.
- In a bowl, mix together the heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour half of this mixture over the layered potatoes and cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh herbs.
