Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite variety)
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs like thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices evenly.
  3. Sprinkle half of the cheese over the potato slices.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour half of this mixture over the layered potatoes and cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh herbs.
