Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven.
      Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures that your scones bake evenly and develop a golden brown exterior.

    1. Mix dry ingredients.
      In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir well to ensure all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

    1. Cut in the butter.
      Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. This step is crucial for creating a flaky texture in the scones.

    1. Add chocolate chips.
