  • 4 large Bell peppers choose vibrant colors like red, yellow, or orange
  • 1.5 cups Cooked rice the heart of the filling
  • 0.5 lb Ground meat optional, use beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce adds moisture and tang
  • 0.5 cup Grated cheese for topping
For Seasoning and Herbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1 handful Fresh parsley or basil chopped
For Baking
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil for drizzling
  • 0.25 cup Water or broth

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Slice tops off peppers and remove seeds, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in cooked rice, ground meat (if using), tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Stuff each pepper with the rice mixture, pressing gently. Top with grated cheese.
  6. Arrange peppers in a baking dish, pour broth beneath, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 10 more minutes.
