For the Skillet Base
  • 1 pound Ground chicken Choose lean ground chicken for a healthy protein base.
  • 2 medium Sweet potatoes Peel and dice evenly.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Use extra virgin for rich flavor.
  • 1 medium Yellow onion Finely chopped.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
Optional Add-ins
  • 2 cups Fresh spinach or kale Stir in near the end.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh cilantro or parsley Chopped, for garnish.
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili flakes Add for heat.

How to Make Ground Chicken & Sweet Potato Skillet
  1. In a large skillet, warm olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add diced sweet potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and cook 5–7 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Push sweet potatoes aside, then stir in chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté 2–3 minutes.
  4. Crumble in lean ground chicken, cook 5–7 minutes until no longer pink.
  5. Sprinkle smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cook 1 minute more.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover skillet, and let cook 3–4 minutes.
  7. Uncover and fold in fresh spinach or kale. Cook 1–2 minutes until wilted.
  8. Transfer to warm plates, sprinkle chopped cilantro and red chili flakes, and serve immediately.
